Our Partnership of schools

  • Welcome to

    Gulworthy Academy

May I extend a warm welcome to you from the pupils, staff and Governors of Gulworthy Academy.

We all firmly believe Gulworthy is a unique school. We are situated in the heart of the beautiful Tamar Valley; the school is steeped in over 150 years of social, industrial and rural history. Gulworthy School has an established sense of place within both the local environment and community – something we consider a major strength in an ever-changing and fast-paced modern world.

The school has a crystal clear core purpose – to simply put children and learning at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to establish a love of learning in our pupils by developing and building on their creativity and curiosity. Further details on how we achieve this can be found in our Vision and Aims statement.

We are an inclusive school and we ensure all pupils are included in the life of the school whatever their age, ability, disability or ethnic background.

Our pupils are proud to attend Gulworthy and this is reflected in high standards of work, behaviour and attainment. All our staff are committed to ensuring the school continues to strive for excellence, for the best for all pupils and for that ultimate enjoyment and satisfaction gained from learning. Our school community including pupils, parents, governors, support staff and teachers works collectively to ensure we are a happy, hard working and successful team.

We strongly encourage all prospective parents to visit our school and see all the pupils and staff at work for themselves. Please contact the school office to make an appointment. We look forward to meeting you.

    Mrs Melody Sterry
    Headteacher
